Garment Exporters and Manufacturers Association (GEMA) is one of the oldest and most dynamic Apparel Associations in India, representing Manufacturer and Merchant Exporters. Its primary role is to sensitize the GoI policy makers towards the needs of Apparel Exporters.

Since inception GEMA, is taking up issues of entire India with Government of India and various State Governments. Keeping a constant vigil on the policies of the Government announced or modified from time to time and interacts with the Ministry of Textiles, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Commerce, DGFT, Apparel Export Promotion Council and other concerned Central and State Government Organizations to seek necessary commercial and fiscal relief for the Garment Exporters.

Our vision is to promote, support and assist Indian Garment Export Industry to enhance its competitive advantage and positioning in International market that provide assistance to Indian Garment Industry.

The Association is providing following services to the trade and members:

•  Garments Exporters & Manufacturers Association (GEMA) is a not-for-profit organization registered under Section 8 of the Companies act. Established in 1975 with the main objective to promote and safeguard the interests of garment exporters, GEMA has completed about 46 years of useful existence and dedicated service, to Garment Export Community. 
• Our vision is to promote, support and assist Indian Garment Export Industry to enhance its competitive advantage and positioning in international market that provide assistance to Indian Garment Industry.
• To promote , develop and provide B2B platform for export of all types of readymade garments, by organizing India International Garment Fairs ( IIGF) in collaboration with International Garment Fair Association(IGFA) and other organizing Associations.
• To provide skilled work force and labour to the industry which is in perpetual shortage of skilled labour as accredited Assessment Agency..
• GEMA got affiliated as assessment agency on great demand and request from our esteemed Industry Members who constantly are in need of skilled labour which is not easily and abundantly available. GEMA carries out assessments based on these occupational standards, using persons from the industry as freelance assessors.
• Assisting members, especially in the small-scale sector by giving assistance in the matter of understanding and implementation of the drawback, rules and the procedures, import license facilities provided and how to apply for the facilities.
• Keeping a constant vigil on the policies of the Government announced or modified from time to time and interacts with the Ministry of Textiles, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Commerce, DGFT, Apparel Export Promotion Council and other concerned Central and State Government Organizations to seek necessary commercial and fiscal relief for the Garment Exporters.
• Releasing Press-Notes on matters affecting the garment industry and organize Press Conferences as and when required to bring about public awareness of the Garment Exporters problems and achievements.
• Keeping record of all notifications, circulars and updated information relevant to the Garment trade and circulate them regularly to members.
